Hycat™ AO-4

Colorless Epoxy Anhydride Catalyst

Hycat™ AO-4 is a proprietary low viscosity liquid catalyst that accelerates the reaction of a broad range of epoxy resins with a wide variety of anhydride curing agents. Hycat™ AO-4 is a clear and colorless product used to promote the reaction of epoxy/anhydride formulations that require exceptional clarity and light transmission characteristics in the final cure. Hycat™ AO-4 is a latent catalyst that provides very long pot life and produces moderate to high glass transition temperatures (Tg).

Anhydride reactions catalyzed by Hycat™ AO-4 include Hexahydrophthalic Anhydride (HHPA), Methylhexahydropthalic Anhydride (MHHPA), Methyltetrahydrophthalic Anhydride (MTHPA), Nadic Methyl Anhydride (NMA), Maleic Anhydride (MA), Phthalic Anhydride (PA) and more. Typical epoxides include Bisphenol A Diglycidyl Ether (BADGE), Bisphenol F Diglycidyl Ether (BFDGE), Cycloaliphatic Diepoxide, NOVOLAC, Tetrafunctional Methylene Dianiline and more.
